Oscar de la Renta Spring/Summer 2012 RTW
The winds of change swept through the house of Oscar de la Renta for Spring 2012. The legendary designer, and Anna Wintour favorite, showed a fresh and upbeat collection at New York Fashion Week. Bright pops of neon yellow dotted a collection that was filled with delicate lace dresses as well as the sleeveless sheath dresses, tweed skirt suits and glamorous gowns de la Renta is known for.
Marchesa Spring/Summer 2012 RTW
For their first runway show in five years Marchesa designers Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig took a more earth-bound approach to their usually high-flying sophisticated style. The Spring 2012 Marchesa collection was still a study in romantic red carpet worthy dressing with swoops of metallic fringe and poofs of teased tulle enchanting the eye. The neutral color palette, with only a smattering of midnight blue, was refreshing as were the many of the shoulder-baring looks.
Rodarte Spring/Summer 2012 RTW
For their Spring 2012 Rodarte show Kate and Laura Mulleavy were inspired by the animated Disney classic, Sleeping Beauty and Vincent van Gogh. The Disney-influenced color palette of deep purple, turquoise and gold meshed seamlessly with Sunflowers and Starry Night printed dresses. We hope to see Taylor Swift, Dakota and Elle Fanning, Saoirse Ronan, Tavi Gevinson, and Rooney Mara, all sitting in Rodarte’s front row, wearing pieces from the collection on the red carpet soon.
